We can pulvarize poverty! (Stubc08)

What is poverty? According to dictionary.com, poverty is insufficiancy or indigence. Although some people do not have to worry about money or if they will have dinner that evening, there are many people who wake up wondering if they can make it through the day. It is heartbreaking to think that one billion children live in poverty. That is one in every two children. Also, almost half the world (three billion people) live on less than $2.50 a day. Can we go on like this? What happens if this continues? Why? A single person can change this. The girl effect shows the small steps in which a girl can change the world. It is amazing. thegirleffect.com. What are you thinking at this moment? "Oh, I am just an average person, I can't do anything." If thats what you are thinking, that is not the case! You alone can raise awarness by making flyers, starting an organization, or simply telling someone. Just taking two seconds and tell somebody whats going on can make a difference. Together we can pulvarize poverty and together we can make a difference.

Great post, Lucy. When I watched the girl effect video, I also was amazed at how little it takes to get a family or community out of the poverty cycle.
